O’Neil Cannon is Seeking and Experienced Billing Specialist

O’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong and Laing is seeking a talented and professional full-time Billing Specialist with 5+ years of experience. Must be highly organized and work well with minimal supervision. Great, congenial communication and an awesome rapport with clients, attorneys, and coworkers are key to succeeding in this position. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a dependable work ethic and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Juris (or other accounting programs), and Adobe software.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to handle a high volume of bills per mont
  • Review and edit prebills in response to attorney requests
  • Process write-offs/credit memos following firm policies and procedures
  • Ability to execute complex bills in a timely manner (i.e. discounts, split-party and flat-fee billing
  • Create and print final client bills
  • Review and verify the accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
  • Experienced in all phases of electronic invoicing on multiple platforms, helpful
  • Research and respond to client and attorney billing and account inquiries
  • Enter attorney time and edit time diaries
  • Create and distribute monthly reports
  • Conduct thorough conflict checks and report results
  • Open new client matters
  • Process credit card payments
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimal Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business or Accounting or other related major
  • 5+ years of hands-on billing experience (preferably in a service industry similar to a law firm
  •  5+ years of an understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, coworkers, and clients
  • Experienced in Juris or similar accounting program, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe software
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and show strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Must be flexible with the ability to work under pressure in a team environment
